Graceway’s 2016 Youth Soccer season is gearing up for another great year. We anticipate hundreds of kids from around the Kansas City metro area will be joining us just as in years past; many of whom do not attend church. The league is able to provide a venue for character development, teamwork, and where new relationships are formed.
Being a part of these leagues can provide an opportunity for you and your family to develop community as you meet people from around Graceway and the community. Jeremy Schell’s son, Jackson, played soccer for the first time last season. “We have a community that we didn’t before,” he said. “By the end of the season people were inviting each other to their kids’ birthday party.” He also recalls seeing a coach help console a child from the other team when hurt. “This is when you get to see the Graceway family at work. It wasn’t about my team versus yours at that moment.” he said.
We need your help! The league is run solely on volunteers from around the church and community, and our youth sports leagues (both baseball and soccer) are the largest outreach we have here at Graceway. We are in need of division leaders, head and assistant coaches, and referees, If you are interested in being a part of what God is doing in our community through this league, contact Kellie DeWitt for more information.
