What does faithfulness look like when following Jesus leads into hardship instead of away from it?
In “Faithful Under Fire,” Pastor Tim Dunn continues the DEAR CHURCH series at Graceway with Jesus’ message to the suffering church in Smyrna from Revelation 2:8–11. Though these believers faced poverty, slander, imprisonment, and even death, Jesus called them spiritually rich and promised them the crown of life.
This sermon reminds us that suffering is not always evidence that we have wandered outside God’s will. Sometimes the fire comes because we have refused to abandon our faith. Jesus does not always give an explanation adequate to our pain—but He gives us a revelation of Himself adequate for our endurance.
